Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Remain Essential for Future Expansions

The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that Pack Hourglasses will continue to function in upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions, dispelling recent rumors suggesting their obsolescence. This means players can confidently continue accumulating these valuable time-savers.

The confirmation comes amidst speculation surrounding the next expansion, anticipated for January 2025. Following the October 2024 release of Pokemon TCG Pocket and the subsequent addition of the Mythical Island booster pack (68 new cards), some players had completed their card collections. This, coupled with rumors of a new January expansion, led to concerns that Pack Hourglasses would become redundant.

However, The Pokemon Company's statement clarifies that Pack Hourglasses will consistently reduce booster pack opening delays by one hour, irrespective of the expansion. This announcement effectively quells concerns about a potential new in-game currency replacing Pack Hourglasses for future expansions, at least for the immediate future.

Players currently lacking Pack Hourglasses can still obtain Pack Stamina through 12-hour waiting periods, allowing for two pack openings daily. Hourglasses themselves are obtainable via daily challenges and the daily-refreshing Complimentary Item Set in the shop. Each hourglass reduces the waiting time by one hour, with twelve needed to bypass the full 12-hour wait. It's worth noting that Pokemon TCG Pocket already boasts a diverse range of in-game currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, various tickets, Poke Gold, and Pack Points.

This reassurance from The Pokemon Company should alleviate the anxieties of players who had been worried about the value of their accumulated Pack Hourglasses. Given the game's current success, further expansions for Pokemon TCG Pocket are highly likely.
