Author : Zachary Update : Feb 28,2025

Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer Pokémon battle game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title focuses on core-style Pokémon battles.

The trailer showcased online battles incorporating both Mega Evolution and Terastalization, suggesting a broad range of Pokémon and battle styles across various generations.

PlayCrucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from previous games, finally providing a purpose for those countless Pokémon residing in storage boxes.

Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, a release date remains unannounced. Latin American Spanish will be included among the launch languages.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the game previously leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak." While initial details were scarce, suggesting a multiplayer experience with comparisons to Splatoon, the official reveal clarifies its core focus on competitive Pokémon battles.
