Pokemon GO Event Adding Long-Requested Feature for a Limited Time
Pokemon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids
Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: the ability to use remote raid passes in Shadow Raids. This limited-time opportunity, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows players to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely.
This event presents a unique chance to catch Pokemon with enhanced Individual Values (IVs). The temporary inclusion of remote raid passes in Shadow Raids addresses a significant player request since their introduction in 2023.
Key Highlights:
- Limited-Time Access: Remote raid passes are only usable in Shadow Raids during Fashion Week: Taken Over.
- Enhanced IVs: Shadow Raids offer a higher chance of catching Pokemon with superior IV stats.
- Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day: A special Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. local time) provides boosted shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and the chance to teach it Sacred Fire. Charged TMs can also be used to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokemon.
The temporary nature of this feature leaves the future of remote raid pass usage in Shadow Raids uncertain. While player demand is high, and the current in-person requirement for certain raids has drawn criticism, Niantic hasn't confirmed whether this will become a permanent addition. This Fashion Week event offers a valuable test case for the viability of remote Shadow Raids.
