Pokemon GO Bug Out Event: Dates, Features, and Bonuses Revealed

March events are buzzing in *Pokemon GO*, and we're ready to embrace the change of seasons with a special focus on bug-type Pokemon. The Bug Out event is your golden window to snag these fascinating creatures, complete with enticing bonuses and fresh avatar items to enhance your gameplay.

Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and wraps up on March 30 at 8 PM local time. That's a solid five-day period to dive into the world of bug-type Pokemon. It's also a prime time for Shiny hunting, as most of the featured Pokemon have Shiny variants in the game.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

During the Bug Out event, you'll encounter a higher frequency of the following bug-type Pokemon in the wild:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Nincada
  • Venipede
  • Dwebble
  • Joltik
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Nymble
  • Cutiefly (with Shiny potential)

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Get ready to welcome two new additions to *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

The Bug Out event will feature a variety of raids, with the following Pokemon appearing at raid gyms. Those marked with an asterisk (*) can be encountered in their Shiny forms:

One-Star Raids

  • Scyther*
  • Nincada*
  • Sizzlipede

Three-Star Raids

  • Beedrill*
  • Scizor*
  • Kleavor*

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Throughout the Bug Out event, trainers can enjoy these bonuses:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops during the event will yield event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon. Additionally, Timed Research will offer rewards like a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon. For those willing to invest, the Paid Timed Research provides a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Remember, all research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event concludes.

Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop, including:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event will also feature Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will earn you rewards such as Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
