Pokémon TCG Pocket butters up players with free trade tokens as they work on improving feature

Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature launch has been underwhelming, despite high player demand. This has led developers to plan a rework of the trading system.

As a temporary measure, players will receive 1,000 Trade Tokens via the in-game Gifts menu. Trade Tokens are an in-game currency needed for card trading. This giveaway aims to appease players while the trading system is overhauled.

The developers previously announced changes to simplify trading and currency acquisition. Many players criticized the initial trading restrictions, such as rarity limitations and the requirement for Trade Tokens.

Reworking the Trading System

To avoid the current issues, a more open trading system or the complete removal of trading would have been simpler solutions. While botting and exploitation are valid concerns, the existing restrictions likely presented minimal obstacles to determined players.

Hopefully, the planned rework will address player concerns. A well-implemented trading system in a digital TCG could significantly enhance its appeal as a viable alternative to the physical card game.
