Palworld Mobile to Embark on New Adventure
Krafton and Pocket Pair are joining forces to bring the monster-collecting game, Palworld, to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise to adapt Palworld's core gameplay for mobile platforms through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios. This partnership signifies a significant expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.
While excitement is high, details about the mobile version remain scarce. The original Palworld game, released on Xbox and Steam in January and later on PlayStation 5 (excluding Japan), has garnered considerable popularity. The exclusion of Japan from the PS5 release is reportedly linked to an ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo over alleged patent infringement concerning the game's mechanics. Nintendo alleges patent infringement related to the method of capturing creatures, a similarity noted by some players who have dubbed Palworld "Pokémon with guns." Pocket Pair, however, claims unawareness of the specific patents in question.
Krafton's involvement is crucial, given Pocket Pair's current focus on developing the existing game. However, the mobile project is likely in its early stages. Further details, such as whether the mobile version will be a direct port or a modified adaptation, are eagerly awaited. In the meantime, interested players can explore the official Steam page for a comprehensive understanding of Palworld's gameplay and features.
