Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system specifically designed for nomadic gameplay. A new currency, "herd," will be the cornerstone of a ruler's power, significantly impacting military might, cavalry unit composition, vassal relationships, and other core game mechanics.

The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant migration. A chieftain's movements will be strategically influenced by choices: peaceful negotiation with settled populations or forceful displacement.

Furthermore, rulers will command transportable yurts, mirroring the adventurer system. These yurts can be customized with upgrades offering various advantages.
