Morpeko's Hangry Form Makes Halloween Debut in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO's Halloween event: Part 1 is here! Niantic has revealed the details for the first part of the spooky celebration, with a second part to follow. Get ready for exciting features and chilling Pokémon encounters.

The event runs from Tuesday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. local time, until Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

What's Haunting Pokémon GO?

Morpeko makes its debut! This Electric/Dark-type Pokémon introduces unique battle mechanics, especially exciting in Team GO Rocket battles and GO Battle League. Morpeko switches between Full Belly Mode (Aura Wheel - Electric-type, 100 power, Attack boost) and Hangry Mode (Aura Wheel - Dark-type, 100 power, Attack boost) mid-battle based on its charged attack.

During the event, you'll have increased chances of encountering Morpeko in the GO Battle League's premium track. After the event, it will remain available from Rank 16, though still more frequent in premium battles.

A Spooky Atmosphere

Pokémon GO will be decked out in Halloween decorations. Enjoy a special remix of the classic Lavender Town theme music each night!

Dynamax Gastly appears in one-star Max Battles, alongside Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

A free Timed Research event focusing on Spiritomb and its 108 spirits runs from October 22nd to November 3rd. Complete tasks for encounters with Halloween Pokémon, including Spiritomb and Morpeko.
