Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons and Weather, Explained
Navigate the dynamic landscapes of *Monster Hunter Wilds’* Forbidden Lands, where seasons and weather dramatically impact gameplay and visuals. This guide unravels the mysteries of Fallow and Plenty, the two primary seasons shaping your hunting experience.
Understanding *Monster Hunter Wilds'* Seasons

The Forbidden Lands cycle through two distinct seasons: Fallow and Plenty. Beginning in the harsh Fallow season, you'll face a challenging environment with unpredictable weather, scarce resources, and highly aggressive monsters frequently engaging in territorial battles. Survival is paramount.
In stark contrast, the Plenty season offers a warmer, more bountiful landscape. Flora thrives, colors explode across the environment, and monsters are less hostile, often foregoing pack hunting. This season is a boon for resource gathering, with Endemic Life and valuable plants readily available, bringing much-needed relief to the villagers and hunters alike.
Between these seasons, brief but intense weather events known as Inclemency occur, setting the stage for epic clashes with Apex Predators. For example, the Sandtide, a powerful lightning-filled sandstorm, provides the backdrop for a challenging encounter with the Alpha Doshaguma in the Pinnacle of the Pack assignment. Expect to encounter unique weather phenomena during these Apex Predator battles.
Checking Seasons and Weather

Monitoring the current season and weather is straightforward. The in-game HUD displays icons in the bottom-left corner, indicating the time of day and season. For a detailed breakdown, consult your map. Press the designated button to access the Environment Overview, providing precise information on the prevailing weather and season.
Optional Quests often feature specific times of day and seasons. During these quests, you'll be temporarily transported to the designated environment, regardless of the current season in the main game.
Changing Seasons and Weather
The impact of Fallow and Plenty on the Forbidden Lands' flora and fauna makes strategic season selection beneficial. Fortunately, you can manipulate the season and weather.
To alter the season and weather, pitch your tent and select the "Rest" option from the BBQ Menu. You can then adjust the Environment and Time before your hunter awakens.
However, this convenience comes at a cost. Resting requires 300 Guild Points and is only accessible to High-Rank Hunters. Note that resting is unavailable during active quests.
This comprehensive guide covers the seasons and weather mechanics in Monster Hunter Wilds. Mastering these elements will significantly enhance your hunting prowess.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
