Step 1: Gathering Resources

This build requires a substantial number of blocks. Cobblestone and wood are readily available and ideal choices for their ease of acquisition.

Step 2: Choosing the Perfect Location

Building your mob spawner high in the sky is key. Ground-level construction often results in mobs spawning elsewhere, hindering efficiency. An elevated location, ideally above a body of water (where mobs won't spawn), ensures mobs are funneled into your farm. Construct a small platform approximately 100 blocks above water level, adding ladders for easy access. Place a chest and connect four hoppers as shown in the image.

Step 3: Constructing the Main Tower

Build a tower around the hoppers, extending it 21 blocks high for XP farming or 22 blocks for an automatic farm (this height is adjustable). Place slabs atop the hoppers.

Step 4: Building the Water Trenches

Construct four 7-block long, 2-block wide bridges extending from the tower. Build 2-block high walls around the bridges. Place two water blocks at the end of each bridge, ensuring the water flows towards the tower's opening.

Step 5: Completing the Structure

Connect the water trenches to create a large square. Maintain 2-block high walls (the minimum height for mob spawning). Finally, fill in the structure, completing the walls, floor, and roof.

Step 6: Adding Torches and Slabs

Place torches or slabs across the roof to prevent mob spawning on top of the farm. At night, watch the mobs fall into your collection system!

Boosting Your Mob Farm's Efficiency

While the basic design is functional, several enhancements can significantly improve efficiency:

  • Nether Portal Connection: Link a Nether portal to your farm for easier access. A water elevator is another convenient option.

  • Adjustable XP/Auto-Farming: Use pistons and a lever to easily switch between a 21-block (XP farming) and 22-block (auto-farming) setup.

  • Bed Placement: Beds increase mob spawn rates; place one nearby.

  • Spider Prevention: Spiders can clog your farm. Place carpets with one block spacing to prevent their spawning. carpets to prevent spiders spawning
