The Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac has arrived, and Metal Gear Solid is celebrating in style! David Hayter, the iconic voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, extended a "Happy Snake Year" greeting, adding an exciting layer to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.

A Serendipitous Alignment

Hayter's Bluesky post highlighted the auspicious coincidence: 2025 is not only the Year of the Snake but also the projected release year for the highly anticipated remake. Konami themselves acknowledged this synchronicity with a celebratory YouTube video featuring a dynamic Taiko drum performance and a calligraphy artist creating the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement.

While details have been scarce since the May 2024 announcement, a trailer at the Tokyo Game Show, and a playable demo, Metal Gear Solid Delta producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke to 4Gamer. He emphasized the development team's commitment to delivering a highly polished and high-quality game in 2025.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic, is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. Expect next-gen enhancements, including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, and fresh voice work from the original cast.
