Link Now Playable in Zelda Game

The ESRB rating for Nintendo's upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom reveals a key detail: players will control both Zelda and Link! This September release marks Zelda's debut as the main protagonist.

Zelda and Link: A Dual Protagonist Adventure

The ESRB listing confirms the game's E 10+ rating and the absence of microtransactions. It describes gameplay featuring Zelda's quest to seal rifts across Hyrule and rescue Link. Zelda wields a magic wand to summon creatures like wind-up knights and slime for combat, while Link utilizes his classic sword and arrows. Enemies are defeated through various means, including fire and disintegration.

This represents a significant shift for the Zelda franchise, making Echoes of Wisdom a highly anticipated title. It's currently the most wishlisted game from the recent summer showcases.

While the ESRB confirms Link's playable role, the extent of his involvement remains a mystery. The game launches September 26th, 2024.

Hyrule Edition Switch Lite: Pre-Orders Open!

To coincide with the game's launch, Nintendo is offering a special Hyrule Edition Switch Lite. Available for pre-order, this golden-colored console features the Hyrule crest and a Triforce symbol. It doesn't include the game but comes with a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription for $49.99.
