Second Life Mobile Public Beta Launches!
Second Life, the popular social MMO, launches its public beta on iOS and Android! Premium subscribers can access it immediately via the App Store and Google Play. However, free access remains unannounced.
While requiring a Premium account limits immediate access for non-subscribers, this beta release significantly accelerates the flow of information about the mobile version of this long-standing MMO.
For those unfamiliar, Second Life, a pioneer of the metaverse concept, prioritizes social interaction over traditional MMO gameplay elements like combat or exploration. Players create and live out virtual lives as customized avatars, engaging in diverse activities and role-playing scenarios. Initially released in 2003, Second Life introduced mainstream audiences to concepts like social gaming and user-generated content.
