KEMCO's Roguelite RPG, Novel Rogue, Hits Android

KEMCO has launched a captivating new roguelite on Android: Novel Rogue. This pixel-art fantasy JRPG blends card deck-building with enchanting storytelling, promising a unique adventure. Prepare for a journey filled with magical books, strategic battles, and intriguing narratives.

You play as Wright, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the hallowed halls of the Ancient Library. Wright’s journey takes him through the pages of four magical books, each transporting him to a distinct and captivating world.

One book plunges you into a quest to aid a princess knight in reclaiming her fallen kingdom; another unveils the mysteries of the shadowy underworld. Every choice you make shapes these worlds, ensuring replayability and a constantly evolving experience. No two playthroughs will ever be quite the same.

What's the Gameplay Like?

At its core, Novel Rogue features a turn-based card battle system that dynamically adapts to the book you're currently exploring. Each of the four worlds boasts its own unique deck-building mechanics. Defeat enemies, select from three new cards after each battle, and craft the ultimate deck to conquer your foes.

Strategic depth is enhanced by the "Change" command, allowing you to strategically redistribute damage among your allies. The "Novel Power" mechanic lets you strengthen your deck using ink, adding another layer of tactical decision-making. For a truly challenging experience, try Deep Record mode, which significantly increases dungeon difficulty for high-stakes battles.

As you progress, collect treasures to cultivate relationships with various characters. These bonds can unlock special endings, rewarding players for their dedication. Customize your characters' appearance with Witch Stones, allowing you to swap out costumes and sport your favorite looks.

Novel Rogue is available now for free on the Google Play Store. A premium version is also offered, providing 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional perks such as an ad-free experience.
