Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of characters, each with unique abilities and playstyles. This guide covers all currently available Breakers, explaining how to unlock them and highlighting their strengths. Note that this guide reflects the early access version; more characters may be added later.
How to Unlock New Characters
To unlock new Breakers, you need Abyss Stones. These are dropped by Crowns (bosses). First, locate Prisms (represented by golden diamond icons on the map) to access boss arenas. After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter. Select the Breaker you wish to unlock and spend your Abyss Stones to add them to your roster. Currently, only a few characters require Abyss Stones for unlocking; the method for future characters remains unconfirmed.
All Characters and Their SyComs
Each Breaker starts with a SyCom, defining their base stats and core perk, which significantly impacts their playstyle.
Vermillion:
- Default SyCom: Gunslinger: Favors ranged combat; critical hits grant a guaranteed critical hit on the next shot.
- Unlockable SyCom: Tank: Rewards perfect parries with increased armor; boasts superior defensive and melee stats.
Lapis:
- Default SyCom: Lightweaver: Boosts Rail shot damage after collecting a Battery.
- Unlockable SyCom: Warrior: Increases core stats with each upgrade, making her exceptionally powerful late-game.
Goro:
- Default SyCom: Astrologer: Accelerates Blade skill charge while firing.
- Unlockable SyCom: Sniper: Significantly increases critical hit rate, transforming him into a high-risk, high-reward ranged damage dealer.
