The demo features a different protagonist than the Nameless Hero – a fellow prisoner from the Miners' Valley. Developers have meticulously recreated iconic elements while significantly upgrading the visuals. Separately, THQ Nordic revealed that a free Gothic 1 Remake demo will launch February 24th. This demo, utilizing Unreal Engine 5, will focus on Niras' prologue.

Importantly, this standalone demo is not integrated into the main game. It serves as a self-contained experience showcasing the game's world, mechanics, and atmosphere. Players will control Niras, a convict in the Colony, freely exploring the environment.
