Google Play Store Might Soon Auto-Launch Installed Apps For You
Ever download an app and then promptly forget about it? Google Play Store may have the answer. A new feature in development could automatically launch apps upon installation.
The Details
Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This potential addition would automatically open newly downloaded apps, eliminating the need to hunt for the icon. The app would launch immediately after a successful download.
This "App Auto Open" feature, discovered through an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19, remains unconfirmed. No official release date has been announced. Crucially, it would be entirely optional, allowing users to enable or disable auto-launch as preferred.
How It Might Work
Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear at the top of your screen for approximately 5 seconds. Your phone might also vibrate or ring (depending on your settings), ensuring you won't miss the notification, even if momentarily distracted.
Keep in mind, this information is unofficial. We'll update you as soon as Google provides official confirmation and a release date.
