Path of Exile 2's Hidden Golden Idols: A Guide to Act 3's Secret Riches

Path of Exile 2 boasts numerous quests, but some remain hidden, bypassing the quest log entirely. This is true for the five Golden Idols scattered throughout Act 3. While labeled "Quest Items," their function is unique. Unlike typical quest items, collecting them doesn't trigger a new quest entry. Instead of advancing a questline for a reward, these idols offer a substantial gold payout.

Locating the Golden Idols

After exploring the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment in Act 3 and traveling through a time portal, you'll find yourself in Utzaal, the Drowned City—a glimpse into the Vaal civilization at its zenith. Within Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat, lie the five Golden Idols. They aren't enemy drops; instead, they're found on the ground or pedestals, often in secluded chambers.

Cashing In Your Discoveries

Once you've collected an Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and seek out Oswald, located in the northern part of the area. He's the only vendor who will buy these unique items. The payout for each Idol is as follows:

• Golden Idol: 500 Gold
• Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
• Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
• Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
• Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold

Collecting all five Idols nets you a considerable 6000 Gold. Since they occupy inventory space and serve only as valuable trade goods, it's advisable to sell them immediately after discovery to maximize your bag space.
