New Games and Reviews on SwitchArcade!
Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. But we're going out with a bang!
Reviews & Mini-Views
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)
Following the success of Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, Imagineer's collaboration with Hatsune Miku was a smart move. This Joy-Con-only title (no Pro Controller support) offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed song modes. Features include difficulty options, free training, warm-ups, progress tracking, reminders, and unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is jarring and I recommend lowering its volume. It's a solid fitness game, best used to supplement, rather than replace, other exercise routines.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 -Mikhail Madnani
Magical Delicacy ($24.99)
Magical Delicacy blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. The exploration is well-executed, but inventory management and UI interaction could be improved. The game boasts beautiful pixel art, charming music, and customizable UI settings. While enjoyable, some frame pacing issues were noted on Switch. It's a promising title that would benefit from further refinement.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 -Mikhail Madnani
Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)
A polished sequel to the original, Aero The Acro-Bat 2 delivers a solid 16-bit platforming experience. Ratalaika's improved emulation wrapper includes bonus features like box and manual scans, achievements, a gallery, and cheats. The inclusion of only the SNES version is a minor drawback. A recommended title for fans of the series and retro platformers.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)
More of an expansion than a sequel, Metro Quester | Osaka builds upon the original's turn-based combat and top-down dungeon crawling. Set in Osaka, it introduces a new dungeon, character types, and challenges. Strategic planning is crucial for success. A satisfying experience for fans of the original and a great starting point for newcomers.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
