Game of Thrones: Kingsroad announces closed beta test coming this month
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is launching a closed beta on Android and PC, starting January 15th! Netmarble's action-adventure title, based on George R.R. Martin's books and the HBO series, offers a unique Westeros experience.
Sign-ups are open now for the beta, running from January 15th to the 22nd in the US, Canada, and select European regions. Unlike previous Game of Thrones mobile games, Kingsroad features a single-character perspective. Players become the heir to House Tyre, embarking on a journey across Westeros, battling enemies, and building prestige.
The game boasts a Witcher-esque third-person perspective with exploration and combat, allowing players to choose from three distinct classes: Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin. While visually impressive, the long-term success will depend on factors like monetization and ongoing support.
Winter is Coming (and Beta Registration is Closing Soon!)
The closed beta registration ends January 12th. Despite its promising visuals, Kingsroad will undoubtedly face intense scrutiny from the dedicated Game of Thrones fanbase. The game's monetization strategy and long-term viability will be key factors determining its success. However, if Netmarble delivers, it could satisfy the long-held desire for an immersive, on-the-ground Game of Thrones experience.
