EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes

EA Vancouver has dropped Patch 1.18 for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces undefeated Light Heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking). Three additional fighter alter egos are also included, though their identities remain undisclosed.

The update addresses player concerns following the game's October 2023 release, which saw criticism regarding its initial fighter roster. EA Vancouver's commitment to expanding the roster continues, with UFC 5 now achieving 98% parity with the current top ten UFC rankings.

Beyond the new fighter additions, Patch 1.18 includes gameplay refinements and bug fixes. A key change reduces the muscle modifier's stamina cost from 3.125x to 2.5x. Bug fixes encompass correcting language translations, resolving a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang issue concerning match result display, and updating Stipe and Jones' UFC 309 portraits to reflect their updated gloves.

Further enhancements include a new "More Offers Store" sorting option by release series (Pride, Prime, Champion, etc.) and assorted new vanity rewards.

For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, EA Sports UFC 5 will be accessible via EA Play starting January 14th. This addition complements other titles coming to the Standard tier, like Road 96, Lightyear Frontier, and My Time at Sandrock.
