Disney Mirrorverse to Cease Operations by Year's End
Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024. The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the title before the servers are permanently deactivated.
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam advises players to complete the remaining storyline before the game's closure.
Despite initial excitement, the game fell short of expectations. A lengthy beta period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. The demanding shard collection system, requiring significant investment for character maximization, further hampered its success. However, the game's artistic merit, particularly its creative and visually impressive character designs, remains noteworthy.
The recent addition of Cinderella as a playable character and new story content, just a week prior to the EOS announcement, has left many players disappointed. This sudden closure follows a pattern for Kabam, who previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
