Xbox insider Jez Corden recently hinted on the Xbox Two podcast that State of Decay 3's release is now projected for 2026. While Undead Labs initially aimed for a 2025 launch, Corden suggests a revised timeline pointing towards early 2026.

He assures fans that development is significantly further along than previously perceived, although specifics remain undisclosed. This news may disappoint some, yet it's a more optimistic prediction compared to earlier rumors suggesting a 2027 release.

June's trailer offered a glimpse into the game's post-apocalyptic world, featuring Mad Max-style vehicular combat and intense zombie gunfights. The narrative will unfold years after the initial apocalypse, focusing on human survivors establishing and defending settlements against the undead horde.

State of Decay 3 is slated for release on PC and Xbox Series consoles. The last installment in the franchise debuted in 2018.
