First Deadlock update of 2025 is surprisingly small
Valve has returned from their New Year holidays, and the gaming community is buzzing with excitement as developers roll out fresh patches for various games. After Deadlock announced a shift from its bi-weekly update schedule, many anticipated a comprehensive changelog, but Valve opted for a more relaxed start to the year.
The recent patch focused solely on one hero, Yamato, who received a minor nerf. This included a decrease in damage scaling and a reduced attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, the abilities Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

Given the size of this update, it's likely that we'll have to wait for a more substantial patch. However, pinpointing when that might happen is currently impossible.
It's important to mention that Deadlock has seen a notable decline in its player base recently. This could be attributed to the current popularity of Marvel Rivals, which has captured the attention of many gamers. Despite being in deep beta, maintaining a steady online player count of 7,000–19,000 is a respectable achievement for Deadlock. It's also worth noting that Valve has not yet disclosed any potential release dates or details regarding the game's monetization model.
