Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has dropped alluring hints for a new Borderlands game and stated in a recent interview "I don't think I've done a good enough job of concealing the fact that we're working on something … And I think people that adore Borderlands are going to be thrilled about what we're working on."

Pitchford continued, "An announcement about the next game could occur before the end of the year" Pitchford continued. "I have the largest and finest team that I’ve ever had working on what we know is precisely what our fans desire from us – so I’m extremely thrilled. I can’t wait to discuss it! I wish I could just ramble right now because we’ve got so much to say!"

While specific details remain limited, Pitchford's playful hints have set the stage for what could be an enthralling new game announcement. The Gearbox CEO also said that they are working on "significant things" and multiple projects were in development at the studio.
