BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

Larian Studios has introduced an update to the Patch 8 Stress Test, enhancing stability by fixing bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. This update also ensures that Gale correctly consumes magical items as intended. It's important to note that this update is exclusively available to those participating in the Patch 8 stress test. Others will need to wait for the complete, polished version of the patch to experience all the new enhancements and content.

Key improvements in this update include containers retaining their contents even when destroyed, easier screenshot capabilities in Photo Mode for Steam Deck users, more responsive poses, enhanced cross-play functionality, and updated Booming Blade tooltip values. For a detailed list of all the enhancements, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website's news section.

Patch 8 is poised to be a significant update, marking one of the last major feature additions before Larian shifts focus away from Faerûn. This patch will introduce platform cross-play, over 12 new subclasses including the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter, and the much-awaited Photo Mode.

Photo Mode Is As Customizable As It Can Be

While awaiting the official release of Patch 8, players can explore an in-depth sneak peek video showcasing the full potential of the upcoming Photo Mode. Larian encourages players to maximize their experience with Photo Mode right from the start.

Photo Mode is accessible almost anywhere in the game—during adventures, in combat, and even in multiplayer sessions by the host player. You can set up companions and characters in custom poses, with or without party members, and even include whimsical elements like a jumping frog. The free-moving camera allows for capturing the perfect shot from any angle.

Enhance your photos further with post-processing effects, stickers, and frames. However, during dialogues and cinematic cutscenes, you'll be limited to adding post-process effects and won't be able to adjust poses.

Larian plans to release a tips and tricks video to further inspire the creativity of budding photographers within the player community, offering more ways to utilize Photo Mode effectively.
