Battledom is an upcoming strategy game now in Alpha testing
Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's popular 2020 game, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom offers dynamic RTS combat, enabling players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance the gameplay.
Players earn coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. However, customization is key; players can equip units with a variety of weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
These upgrades aren't found through exploration; instead, players must craft them in their village. Resource gathering—wood, leather, coal, etc.—is essential for crafting items with the help of blacksmiths, magicians, and other village specialists.
Frenken is widely recognized for Herodom, which holds a 4.6-star rating on the App Store. This game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, body types, crops, and farm animals.
Interested players can participate in the Battledom alpha test by downloading TestFlight on their iOS device. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
