Atelier Resleriana: Global EOS Announcement for Forgotten Alchemy and Polar Night Liberator

The mobile gaming world has just received some disheartening news: Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the end of service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Launched globally in January 2024, the game is set to shut down after barely over a year of operation, indicating it didn't meet performance expectations.

In contrast, the Japanese version of the game, which launched in September 2023, continues to thrive. It's gearing up to celebrate its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025, highlighting a stark difference in regional performance and player engagement.

When Is the Atelier Resleriana EOS?

The irony couldn't be more apparent: while the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary, the global version is scheduled to end on March 28th, 2025. As Japanese players advance into Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will be concluding their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1).

The in-game purchase system is now disabled, but players can still use their Lodestar Gems until the final day. Koei Tecmo has committed to providing new content and events up until the shutdown.

Adding to the irony, the global version had just celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th, making the EOS announcement a bitter pill to swallow.

Why Is It Shutting Down?

The developers have stated that after evaluating their inability to maintain the game at a satisfactory level for players, they've decided to shut down the global version. The game struggled to make a significant impact, with players voicing concerns about the gacha system just months after its launch. Despite commendable main characters, the gameplay and monetization strategies, along with severe power creep, failed to retain player interest.

These factors led to the inevitable announcement of the EOS for Atelier Resleriana Global. If you're looking to bid farewell to the game, you can find it on the Google Play Store.
