Assassin's Creed Shadows Postponed to March 2025 for Fan Feedback Integration
Assassin's Creed Shadows' release is shifted to March 2025, allowing Ubisoft to integrate player feedback and refine the gameplay experience. This article delves into the reasons behind the delay and Ubisoft's future plans.
Enhancing the Player Experience: A Delay for a Better Game
Ubisoft has announced a second delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the launch date to March 20th, 2025. The company emphasizes the importance of incorporating community feedback to deliver a superior, immersive experience. The game was initially slated for a 2024 release, then shifted to February 14th, 2025, before this latest postponement.
In an official statement across X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, Ubisoft explained that valuable player feedback received throughout development necessitates a few extra weeks to ensure a more engaging launch experience.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot further elaborated in a press release, highlighting the commitment to creating the franchise's most ambitious Assassin's Creed title. The extra development time will allow for better integration of player feedback, maximizing the game's potential and concluding the year strongly.
The press release also revealed Ubisoft's strategic restructuring, including the appointment of advisors to explore options for maximizing stakeholder value. This follows the underperformance of 2024 releases like Star Wars Outlaws and the premature closure of XDefiant.
While the official statements focus on player feedback, speculation exists that the delay is also a strategic response to the crowded February 2025 game release calendar, which includes titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Civilization VII, Avowed, and Monster Hunter Wilds. This postponement might position Assassin's Creed Shadows for greater visibility.
