ArtClash: Your Daily Dose of Creative Competition (Early Access)

ArtClash isn't Sketchbook, Photoshop, Procreate, or Infinite Painter. It's something new. Designed to foster daily drawing, sketching, and cartooning practice, ArtClash is currently in early access, with the first game complete and many more on the way.

Challenge yourself by free-drawing, tackling themed prompts (single words to complex five-word phrases), or adding constraints like time limits, color palettes, and canvas sizes. Earn points when others correctly guess your creations!

This solo project, initially created for personal practice by the developer and their spouse, aims to inspire others to draw regularly.

Current Features:

• Intuitive painting, sketching, and blending tools.
• Import images for reference or as a base for your artwork.
• Participate in themed challenges with varying difficulty levels (6 levels, from single words to 5-word descriptions).
• Boost your score with optional constraints: time, color, or canvas size.
• Share your free-form drawings with the community.
• NSFW filtering for content control.

Early Access Limitations:

• The current UI is undergoing significant improvement. A planned transition to XAML promises a more user-friendly and responsive experience.
• On lower-end devices, using canvases smaller than 1024x1024 is recommended for optimal performance. The brush engine, while GPU-accelerated, can slow down with large canvases and small brushes. Engine optimization is underway.

Future Enhancements:

• New game modes (starting with a drawing-based "telephone" game).
• Expanded social features (custom avatars, comments, friend lists, following).
• Significant UI improvements and a faster, more efficient brush engine.
• Marquee selection and transformation tools.
• A broader range of brushes, with community contribution options.
• An enhanced layer system with features like transparent pixel locking and masking.
• A direct communication channel for feature requests, bug reports, and community voting on updates.
• A moderation system to manage flagged content.
• User-submitted topics and constraints (subject to moderation).
• Long-term vision: Full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping capabilities.

Currently, ArtClash prioritizes social interaction and creative encouragement over comprehensive image editing. Due to performance considerations with large textures and the current lack of advanced editing features, it's not designed as a full-fledged image editing suite—yet.
