Nine years after its initial release, Rainbow Six Siege is getting a massive upgrade with Rainbow Six Siege X. Announced on February 17, 2025, by Ubisoft, the full details will be revealed in March.
The Rainbow Six Siege X showcase is scheduled for March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT in Atlanta, Georgia. This event promises a unique experience, bringing players, creators, and developers together to unveil the extensive changes coming with Siege X and other surprises.
In-person attendance requires a USD $10 ticket, which includes an exclusive long-sleeve shirt and an in-game cosmetic pack. Eligibility is limited to legal residents of the USA and Canada, aged 18 or older, with a good standing Rainbow Six Siege account (no bans or sanctions).
Ubisoft is also running a VIP giveaway for two lucky fans, including a hotel stay, roundtrip flight, and entry to the showcase. This giveaway is also limited to legal residents of the USA and Canada.
This update promises new gameplay approaches, enhanced tactical elements, refined gameplay feel, and major overall improvements. Specific details will be revealed during the showcase.
Rainbow Six Siege's 10th Anniversary
Originally released on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Rainbow Six Siege later expanded to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2020. Ubisoft's consistent updates have made it one of the longest-running live-service shooters. Siege X aims to further extend the game's lifespan.
A February 17, 2025, Steam post announced a new operator, Aurora, with deployable bulletproof doors. A new elite skin for Aruni and a new reputation system rewarding or penalizing player behavior are also coming. These additions will launch in Season 1 of Year 10, Operation Prep Phase, on March 4, 2025, to celebrate the 10th anniversary.
Given the Season 10 launch date and the Rainbow Six Siege X showcase timing, the major Siege X upgrades will likely be implemented on live servers at a later date.
