PUBG Mobile officially kicks off the Global Open with almost 100,000 participants
The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the first major international PUBG Mobile esports event of the year. Over 90,000 competitors are vying for a share of the massive $500,000 prize pool. Open Qualifiers, which began February 13th, provide a platform for emerging talent to compete against established teams.
This amateur-only tournament ensures fresh faces get a chance to shine. Teams boasting at least one Ultimate 500-ranked player from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have already advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Upcoming weeks will see intense battles for a coveted spot in the PMGO Prelims, where they'll face off against top teams from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
Twelve teams will ultimately earn the right to challenge PUBG Mobile's elite professionals in the PMGO Main Event. Four professional teams—Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage—have already secured their Main Event berths based on their stellar PMGC 2024 performances. Four more will join them, qualifying through regional competitions like the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers run until March 2nd, followed by the Prelims on April 10th-11th, culminating in the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament signals the start of a thrilling year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and PMGC returning later in 2025.
