Pokémon Go Unites Legends in Unova Region Event

Get ready for the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova! Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta are making their debut. This guide explains how to obtain and fuse these legendary Pokémon.

Kyurem's Alternate Forms Arrive

Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic has confirmed the arrival of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta to the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova in February and March 2025. In-person event attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA (February 21-23, 2025) can participate in five-star raids to capture Kyurem and then fuse it.

To fuse Kyurem:

• Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
• White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy

Fusion Energies are earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to the base form is free. Increased Shiny rates for Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom are also in effect.

A global event (March 1-2, 2025) – Pokémon GO Tour: Unova - Global – offers a ticketless opportunity for all players to participate.

Shiny Meloetta Arrives!

Shiny Meloetta debuts in Pokémon GO! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research for an encounter. This research doesn't expire, allowing completion at your own pace.

Iconic Unova Legendaries

Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation of Pokémon games. Black and White 2 introduced Kyurem's alternate forms, capable of learning Ice Burn and Freeze Shock, mirroring their Pokémon GO counterparts. This event provides a complete Unova experience!
