Obtaining the Music Box
Similar to other cursed objects in Phasmophobia, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its appearance is entirely random; there's no guaranteed method to ensure its spawn.
Only one Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to pick it up and activate it with another interaction.
Using the Music Box
Several strategies involve the Music Box. Here's how it functions:
Activation initiates a song. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its location. Proximity within five meters will cause the ghost to approach the Box. The activated Box can be placed on the ground, acting as a lure. The song's conclusion automatically closes the Box.
Note: Holding the active Box depletes sanity.
Triggering a Hunt with the Music Box
The Music Box can trigger either a cursed or standard hunt, depending on these conditions:
- Throwing the active Box (not placing it down).
- Reaching 0% sanity while holding the active Box.
- The ghost approaching the Box for over five seconds.
- The ghost's proximity to the player holding the active Box.
For optimal use, carry additional tools like Smudge Sticks to increase survival chances during a triggered hunt. This allows for ghost identification or objective completion.
