Should You Use Pebbles or Herring in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?
You, as Henry, face a crucial decision: choosing your trusty steed from two contenders, Pebbles and Herring. The prologue cruelly strips you of your original horse, leaving you to rebuild your life, and your stable. Which horse should you choose in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
Finding Pebbles in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Your reunion with Pebbles occurs at the Semine estate, before the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes. She's patiently waiting in the stables, but acquiring her requires a purchase. This happens before your quest with Jan Semine, aptly titled "The Jaunt." Pebbles holds a special place in Henry's heart, a loyal companion reminiscent of Mutt, another trusty friend found through side quests.
Acquiring Herring in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Herring enters the picture after completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls." If you haven't already claimed another horse, Otto von Bergow generously gifts you Herring. However, if you already own a horse and prefer not to have Herring, you can sell him to nomad traders through Kabat for 300 Groschen.
Pebbles or Herring: The Ultimate Choice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
Herring initially appears superior, boasting higher base stats than Pebbles. However, this is deceptive. Each horse unlocks a stat-boosting perk after covering a specific distance. This means initial stat differences don't always translate to a long-term advantage.
Pebbles ultimately emerges as the superior choice. While not possessing the highest stats even after the boost, her affordability and quicker perk unlock (after 35 kilometers versus Herring's 50) make her a compelling option. Her boosted stats are impressive: 217 stamina, 353 capacity, 53 speed, and 12 courage. Furthermore, the sentimental value of her pre-existing bond with Henry adds to her appeal.
For extensive travel, a reliable steed is essential. Pebbles' reliability, decent stats, early acquisition, and faster perk unlock make her the ideal choice for Henry. Her sentimental value only sweetens the deal.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
