Path of Exile: Ritual Unveiled - Passives, Tributes, Favor Guide
Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide
Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revamped mechanic from previous PoE leagues. We'll cover how to initiate Ritual events, their mechanics, the Ritual Passive Skill Tree, the Pinnacle boss (King in the Mists), and the unique Tribute and Favour reward system.
Identifying and Initiating Rituals
On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a distinctive red pentagram icon. Guaranteed Ritual encounters can be secured by using a Ritual Precursor Tablet in a completed Lost Tower.
Once in a Ritual map, several Altars will appear. Each map features a shared random modifier impacting enemy types and mechanics (e.g., massive rat waves, life-draining blood pools).
Interact with an Altar after noting its modifiers to trigger a large enemy wave. Remain within the designated circle; venturing into the shadows ends the event without rewards. A map is considered complete upon successful completion of all its Rituals.
The King in the Mists: Pinnacle Boss
'An Audience With The King,' a unique Ritual currency, unlocks the Crux of Nothingness and the King in the Mists Pinnacle Boss fight. Slot this currency into your Realmgate on the Atlas.
The King in the Mists shares mechanics with his Act 1 Cruel counterpart (Freythorn zone). Defeating him yields 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique PoE 2 items, powerful currencies, and Omen items.
Ritual Passive Skill Tree
The Ritual Passive Skill Tree (located in the Atlas, bottom right) enhances Rituals. Nodes reduce Tribute requirements, improve rewards, and boost unique currency drop rates. The tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing King in the Mists difficulty. Each Notable node requires defeating the King in the Mists at increased difficulty.
Notable Node Prioritization: Focus on 'From The Mists,' 'Spreading Darkness,' and 'Ominous Portents' initially for increased rewards. Then, pursue 'Tempting Offers' and 'He Approaches' for better Omen and "King" encounter chances.
Rewards: Tribute, Favours, and Omens
Successful Rituals award Tribute, a temporary currency exchanged for Favours (randomized items). More Altars completed increase Tribute and unlock more Favours, ranging from basic items to high-tier currencies and rare gear. 'An Audience With The King' is a Favour reward.
Omens are exceptionally powerful consumable items that modify other currency items. They are highly sought after and often traded for valuable currencies.
Beyond the Tribute/Favour system, Ritual enemies drop high-tier currencies (Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, etc.). The King in the Mists has a chance to drop event-exclusive Unique items.
