Nintendo Alarmo Japanese Release Postponed Despite Being Available Worldwide
Nintendo has postponed the Japanese retail release of the Alarmo alarm clock due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock. Read on for details.
Japanese Alarmo General Sale Postponed
Supply Can't Meet Demand
Nintendo Japan announced a postponement of the general sale of the Alarmo, originally scheduled for February 2025. The delay is attributed to current production and inventory challenges. While there's no word yet on whether this affects other regions' March 2025 launch, a new pre-order system is in place.
Exclusively for Japanese Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, pre-orders will open mid-December, with shipments beginning early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date will be announced soon.
Nintendo's Popular Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo—an interactive alarm clock featuring music from iconic Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure (with more to come via updates)—became an instant hit. Its popularity quickly outstripped supply, leading Nintendo to halt online orders and implement a lottery system. The alarm clock sold out completely in physical Nintendo stores across Japan and even the New York Nintendo store.
