NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's mission. After deploying and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.

The two-handed weapon, the Virtuous Treaty, is quite powerful but temporarily lost post-prologue. However, it's quickly recoverable once free-roaming is unlocked in the subsequent chapter.

  1. Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata

This early-game weapon is easily accessible near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. To your left, you'll spot a highway above the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb onto the road. Following the highway will lead you back towards the factory.

Descend into the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. On the left, you'll find another access point with stairs leading upwards. From this higher area, locate the destroyed bridge (where you fought the Goliath). The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge, ready for retrieval.

Your previous body lies just beyond the sword (to the right), allowing you to recover any remaining consumables from the prologue.

  1. Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 300-330
  • Combo: Light 2, Heavy 2

Typical of two-handed weapons, the Virtuous Treaty excels at wide-ranging attacks, inflicting substantial damage on multiple enemies. Its attack speed is, however, relatively slow. Upgrades can significantly boost its damage potential, making it one of the game's highest-damage weapons, provided you adapt to its slower pace. You can also strategically incorporate it into combos with faster weapons using heavy attacks, maximizing damage output despite its slower speed.
