Long-awaited crossplay functionality is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with the upcoming Patch 8! Players split between PC and consoles can soon unite. An early stress test offers a chance to experience this and other Patch 8 features ahead of the official release.

When is Cross-Play Arriving?

Patch 8, introducing crossplay, lacks a firm release date. However, a select group of players will get early access during the Patch 8 Stress Test in January 2025. This test helps Larian Studios identify and fix bugs before the wider launch.

How to Join the Patch 8 Stress Test

Want early access? Register for the Patch 8 Stress Test via Larian's registration form. You'll need a Larian account. The simple registration process requires basic player information, including your gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).

Selection isn't guaranteed. Successful applicants receive an email with further instructions. Participants provide feedback through forms and Discord.

The stress test also assesses the impact on mods. Mod users should register to help ensure compatibility with Patch 8.

Important Note: Crossplay requires all players in your group to participate in the stress test. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release in 2025.
