Ever since the Genetic Apex days of Pokemon TCG Pocket, Metal-type Pokémon like Meltan and Melmetal have faced challenges. They experienced a slight resurgence during the Mythical Island era, but with Dialga Ex's release, they may finally become a competitive force.
Dialga Ex brings much-needed consistency to this deck. Its Metallic Turbo ability allows you to attach two Metal Energy to your Benched Pokémon, accelerating your build-up to Melmetal.
Mew Ex and Tauros serve as effective counters within this decklist, also benefiting from Metallic Turbo. Mew Ex's Genome Hacking and Tauros both require only Colorless Energy, enabling rapid setup while you're attacking with Dialga Ex.

- Yanmega Ex x2
- Tauros

- Professor’s Research x2
- Poke Ball x2
- Pokemon Communication x2
- Giant Cape x2
- Dawn x2
- Leaf x2
While I personally favor Yanmega Ex in a Grass-type deck alongside Exeggutor Ex, I've discovered that it pairs exceptionally well with Dialga Ex, especially due to its Colorless Energy requirement. Yanmega Ex's Air Slash deals 120 damage, capable of one-shotting many opponents. The only drawback is the need to discard an Energy, but Dialga Ex can quickly replenish it.
It's important to highlight that Dialga Ex can seamlessly fit into almost any Colorless deck, thanks to Metallic Turbo. While Yanmega Ex may be its strongest Colorless partner, experimenting with other powerful Colorless decks like Pidgeot or Pidgeot Ex could be worthwhile.
