Initially announced in 2018, the Devil May Cry anime is confirmed to have an eight-episode debut season. Studio Mir's impressive portfolio, including The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97, promises a visually stunning series.
Plot specifics remain shrouded in mystery, but indications suggest the series will focus on Dante from the era of the first three Devil May Cry games, rather than Devil May Cry 5. However, any direct connections to the game's storylines are yet to be confirmed. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, known for voicing Nero in the video game franchise.
The last mainline entry in the Devil May Cry franchise, Devil May Cry 5, launched in 2019, marking a triumphant return for the series after a period of relative inactivity following the 2013 release of DmC: Devil May Cry. Critically acclaimed as a top-tier action game, Devil May Cry 5 is highly recommended, especially for fans of titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2.
