40K Space Marine 2 Eschews DRM, Embraces Fan Freedom
Good news for players! Saber Interactive has officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch DRM-free. Let's delve into the details of this announcement and what it means for the upcoming game.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2: A DRM-Free Experience
No Microtransactions, Just Cosmetic Extras
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive clarified several key aspects of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, including the absence of DRM software like Denuvo. This decision is significant, as DRM often impacts game performance and has a controversial history among gamers.
While the game will be free of DRM, Saber Interactive confirmed the use of Easy Anti-Cheat on the PC version. Easy Anti-Cheat has faced scrutiny in the past, notably in relation to an Apex Legends hacking incident.
The developers also addressed the absence of official mod support at launch, which may disappoint some players. However, the game will feature a PvP arena mode, a horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Importantly, Saber Interactive emphasized that all core gameplay content will be available to all players, with microtransactions and DLC restricted to purely cosmetic items.
