Yakuza / Like a Dragon Fans Choosing Upcoming Official Merch, From Cult Clothes, Traffic Cones, and More Bizarre Items

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise's 20th anniversary by letting fans vote on the next line of official merchandise. The studio has presented a whopping 100 bizarre and iconic items for consideration, with a promise to produce the top two vote-getters within the next two years. The vote, conducted solely on the Japanese-language official website, offers a diverse range of choices.

While some options are more conventional, like anniversary hoodies or pencil cases, many draw from the series' famously outlandish history. These include Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, Majima's oversized traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other memorable items up for grabs are Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.

2025 will see at least one new entry in the franchise, Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean, launching February 21st. While the studio hasn't yet announced any other anniversary projects, given their history of rapid development (nine games released in the last five years alone, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden, and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, plus two Super Monkey Ball games and a Virtua Fighter 5 remaster), a second release isn't entirely out of the question.
