Unveil Wuthering Waves' Secrets: Mastering Incarceration
Conquer the Lifer: A Wuthering Waves 2.0 Guide
Wuthering Waves 2.0's Rinascita region introduces challenging new Tacet Discords, including the formidable Lifer – a top-hat-wearing eyeball boss residing in Oakheart Highcourt's maze. This guide details how to overcome this unique Chop Chop and claim your rewards.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer awaits at Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a massive tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game Challenge
Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. The goal is to connect three of your black pieces before the Lifer connects its white ones. Positioning a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. You can exit and resume the game at any time, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for the fight, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing buffs; otherwise, the Lifer initiates combat immediately.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer boasts seven buffs, significantly increasing its difficulty. Four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. Examine the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer to see its buffs.
Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):
- Growing Loneliness: Recovers 10% Max HP per second after 2s of inactivity.
- Desire for Escape: Increases ATK by 25%, further increasing DMG by 25% every 20s.
- Impending Stalemate: Increases ATK by 20% per DMG instance (up to 4 stacks), resetting after 6s without DMG.
- Decay of Time: Grants 200% resistance to all elemental types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc) and increases Max HP by 25%.
Permanent Buffs:
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: Reduces Immobilization duration by 50%.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP in a single hit.
Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and one is simply on a table. Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff (purple lines turn yellow).
Defeating the Lifer
After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (either by winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!"). The debuffed Lifer poses minimal threat. Victory rewards Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests (depending on the number of victories). You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, but there are no achievements tied to this.
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all nine chests.
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.
For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves. Its impatience will lead to mistakes you can exploit.
