Uno! Mobile and other titles receive Beyond Color update
Mattel163 enhances accessibility in its mobile card games with the "Beyond Colors" update. This update introduces colorblind-friendly decks to Phase 10: World Tour, Uno! Mobile, and Skip-Bo Mobile.
Instead of relying on traditional colors, the new decks utilize easily distinguishable shapes – squares, triangles, circles, and stars – to represent the different card colors. This innovative approach ensures players with colorblindness can readily identify each card's value.
The development of these inclusive decks involved collaboration with colorblind gamers, guaranteeing optimal usability and consistency across all three games. Players can activate the Beyond Colors decks through their in-game avatar settings, under card theme options.
This initiative reflects Mattel163's commitment to inclusivity. With approximately 300 million people worldwide affected by colorblindness (according to the Cleveland Clinic), this update significantly broadens the accessibility of these popular mobile titles. Mattel aims to achieve colorblind accessibility for 80% of its game portfolio by 2025.
For those unfamiliar, Uno! Mobile is the digital adaptation of the classic card game; Phase 10: World Tour offers a fast-paced phase-completion challenge; and Skip-Bo Mobile provides a unique solitaire experience. All three games are available on the App Store and Google Play. Visit Mattel163's official website or Facebook page for more information.
