All Playable Races in Avowed
Avowed, set in the expansive Eora world from the Pillars of Eternity series, offers a diverse fantasy setting, yet its character creator presents a limited selection of playable races. Here's a breakdown of your options:
Humans (Folk)
Humans, or Folk, are the most common race in Avowed and offer extensive customization. The character creator provides a wide array of facial presets, skin tone adjustments, and diverse hair styles and textures, ensuring broad representation.
Elves
Elves are another playable race, visually similar to humans but distinguished by their pointed ears and slightly different facial structures.
Godlikes
While all Envoys are Godlikes in the game's narrative, players can choose to incorporate or omit Godlike features. These features encompass unique hair and facial options, ranging from subtle to striking, with 14 facial and 4 hair options available at launch. These are accessible regardless of chosen race or body type.
Character Customization: Gender and Pronouns
Avowed offers four body types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Two masculine and two feminine voice options are also available. Players can select their character's identifier, influencing the pronouns used (he, she, or they).
Unplayable Races
Note that not all races present as NPCs are playable. While Dwarves, Aumaua, and Orlans populate the Living Lands, they are currently unavailable for player character creation. However, future updates or DLC may expand these options.
This concludes the overview of playable races in Avowed. For further character creation details, consult our guide on available backgrounds.
